Your First Journal Entry

The heart of TidyJot is your journal—a safe and private space to record your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Here’s how to create your very first entry:

1. Navigate to the Journal:

  • From your Dashboard or any other page, click on "Journal" in the left-hand navigation sidebar.

2. Start a New Entry:

  • On the Journal page, you'll typically see an option to "Add New Entry" or a prominent input area. Click on it to begin.

3. Choose Your Entry Type (Optional):

  • TidyJot offers various entry types (e.g., "General," "Morning Check-in," "Evening Reflection," "Brain Dump"). Selecting a type can help structure your thoughts and provide context for AI analysis. You can choose one from a dropdown or a set of buttons, or simply stick with "General."

4. Write Your Entry:

  • You'll see a rich-text editor, similar to what you might use in a document creator.

  • Add a Title: (Optional) Give your entry a descriptive title to make it easier to find later.

  • Write Your Content: Type or paste your thoughts, ideas, and experiences. Use the formatting tools (bold, italics, lists, etc.) to organize your text.

  • Voice Recording (Optional): If available, you can use the voice recording feature to dictate your entry hands-free.

5. Save Your Entry:

  • Once you're satisfied with your entry, look for a "Save" or "Publish" button, usually located at the bottom or top of the editor. Click it to save your entry.

What Happens Next?

  • After saving, your entry will appear in your journal timeline.

  • TidyJot's AI will quietly analyze your entry in the background. This process can extract key tasks, identify your mood, suggest tags, and even recommend focus areas.

  • If the AI finds something actionable, you might receive a notification or see updates on your Dashboard and Plans pages!

Congratulations, you've just made your first step towards a more reflective and organized life with TidyJot!
