How AI Analyzes Your Entries

Every time you save a journal entry in TidyJot, the AI quietly gets to work. It reads what you've written and extracts meaning — not just keywords, but the emotional tone, intentions, and action items woven into your words.

Here's what happens behind the scenes when you click Save Entry:

  • Mood detection — The AI identifies how you're feeling based on the language you used (e.g., overwhelmed, excited, motivated)

  • Sentiment scoring — A score from 0–100 is assigned, where higher scores reflect more positive sentiment

  • Task extraction — Action items are pulled out and added to your to-do list, tagged as "From Diary"

  • Focus Area creation — If your entry suggests a project or goal, a Focus Area may be automatically created on your Plans page

  • Goals & Routines detection — Long-term goals and recurring commitments may appear in the Goals and Ongoing Routines panels

  • Inspirational quote — A relevant quote is selected and shown at the top of the entry when you view it in the Calendar

You can also choose Don't Analyze before saving an entry to skip AI processing entirely — useful for private notes or quick jots you don't want turned into tasks.

💡 Note: AI analysis works best with entries that are a few sentences or longer. Very short entries may generate fewer insights.
